There are many activities to keep you occupied during a stay in Key West, whether you want something that is gay-orientated or not. Key West became one of the first American cities to actually target gay tourists, and so, unsurprisingly, whether you’re gay, lesbian or ‘other’, you are heartily embraced and encouraged to spend your hard-earned cash! You will have no trouble finding hotels, restaurants and bars that are gay-friendly and where there are opportunities to meet other men. Thus, however long you choose to stay, you will find that there is always something new to see and do, making for an exciting and fulfilling holiday.

Of the events held throughout the year in Key West, you may want to participate in Fantasy Fest, which is basically a massive party where you can drink and dance with thousands of other visitors. The Key West Headdress Ball is an extravagant show that is associated with Fantasy Fest. Tropical Heat is also a popular event that attracts men who are up for four days of male-only parties and adult-based entertainment.

There are many other activities to do and things to see. You could try swimming, sailing, snorkelling or any of the many other forms of water sports on offer. You can swim with dolphins or go fishing. You may decide to explore Dry Tortugas National Park or experience the Ghosts and Legends tour that takes you through ‘Old Town Key West’ and offers you the chance to learn about supernatural goings-on in the area.

You can visit the house in which Ernest Hemingway spent a decade of his life or the house which President H. Truman used as a retreat. The Key West AIDS Memorial is also worthy of note, with the names of Key West citizens lost to AIDS inscribed on a memorial located near the White Street Peer.

You’re hardly likely to get bored on a trip to Key West, making it a worthwhile holiday destination whether you happen to be gay or straight.
