American (New Yorker) academic expat newish to Hythe-Folkestone, Kent area. Toward the end of my 6th career (in Academia: International Health and Development) that began as a Ballet/Modern Dancer in NYC, and worked over the years as a playwright and a clinician (Acupuncturist/Herbalist). Recently returned to playwriting. Lived in UK, US, Netherlands, China, Thailand, Bali, The Caribbean, and Africa -prefer the UK coast.
Being gay was always a given, never an issue, and of late, more of an afterthought others remind me of; so was never part of 'the scene' (in New York or anywhere else) and a complete oddity for my age for never taking -or being interested in taking- recreational drugs or excessive drink. I just don't hold any baggage about being who I am and never felt the need to 'ghettoize' my life. Seeking similar ('non-scene') friends who are kind (though open to development into a true blue companion) for exploring the environs, nature, theatre, museums, music, restaurants, beach, and just enjoying life. Not at all interested in "hookups" or I'd be on Grindr (which I've never been on), so actually sincere about making friends. And, if for some reason it matters, I dont look (pegged at 50) or act my age.
