About Me

Having seen the face of Chris and hearing of the sad news of his passing it has brought back so many memories of him and Freddy and the laughs I was lucky enough to share with them out in the original HUMMEL HUMMEL in Gran Canaria… I can remember when they were setting up CAFFMOS and was given the original cards to bring back to Devon… I became a member when it was postal and you got the list through the post and actually they were exciiting times… I remember as I heard a couple of guys talking on a nudist beach at budleigh as a teen and the mentioned a island called Gran Canaria… a month later I took a bus to Gatwick, booked a flight and it was the start of an addiction..My addiction was the Dunes in Gran Canaria and the bars of NA-UND and HUMMEL HUMMEL… that was a social thing… Without doubt the best… it was sex all day in the dunes… and evenings laughter… foot tapping… singing…. Dancing… in the company of some of the best men in the world… these days the words legends don’t mean much… some of the men were legends… these were the pioneers of Gran Canaria…. Even before Jumbo was opened these guys were laying the foundations in the then small Nilo center…. Back then there were not that many english speaking guys going out there…. Funny seeing the name of playa del ingles is beach of the English… but it certainly never stopped the fun… laughter and singing and dancing…. I met Chris and Freddy in the original HUMMEL HUMMEL….. and every evening they were there would have a laugh…. A good old chin wag… they were fantastic times… along with all the other men I was lucky enough to share a beer with… have a laugh with out in Gran Canaria…. I wish I could have 1 more evening with you all…. And the Greatest Legend that ever walked in Jumbo…. The Late Great BERNARD who opened the best bar ever in Jumbo…. NA-UND….. Legends Never Die… And Remember…..when these guys leave us…. They are never replaced….
