COVID-19 Update Due to government home working advice, Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland's offices are currently closed. All face to face clinical services, group work and meetings are postponed. Just out of furlough, starting to get things back to (some kind of) normal.
Although I am indeed an individual, I set up this profile to highlight the charitable issues of an organisation, specifically Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland - on this site I aim to offer help and support (information and advice) only for those that seek it. I may look at your profile but I will not message you unless you message me first.
THT Scotland has offices in Glasgow and Dundee. We also operate clinics in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Tayside (sexual health, HIV STI testing facilities) with a dedicated worker in Fife too.
This profile will (I hope) help to facilitate an opportunity for chat concerning issues around good sexual and mental health for gay and bisexual men including those who identify as male.
Any CAFFMOS member who lives in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Fife and in Lanarkshire can order condoms (and lube) from us, (If you live in Tayside they are available from MenOnlyTayside). These are delivered by post in a plain package FREE.
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is medicine people at risk for HIV take to prevent getting HIV from sex or injection drug use.
Like all other NHS prescriptions in Scotland, PrEP is free.
To get it you need to have a confirmed HIV negative test in a sexual health clinic and be: aged 16 or over, able to attend for regular 3 month reviews, willing to stop taking PrEP when no longer eligible, resident in Scotland.
