I am a retired teacher who still consults on human service issues and sits on several not-for-profit boards. Recently resettled to Sebring, Florida after accepting the position of curator at a small museum. I am also a lecturer and scholar with the Florida Humanities Council.
Have traveled extensively and enjoy visiting new places and revisiting old favourites. I am ultra liberal so ‘teabaggers,’ Republicans, conservatives and others of that ilk can just steer clear. I am a rather laid back person who enjoys conversation, especially discussing world issues, history, and good books. Very concerned about the direction that our planet is heading, i.e. global climate change and get very mad when I ponder what we have done to our world in the name of money! So, I guess you could say I am a ‘green.’ I am religious but not ‘in your face’ about it. It’s God’s job to judge others, especially those who condemn anyone who isn’t ‘them.’ I do go to church weekly and am an elder. I am a serious collector of ‘stuff.’ Art, books, etc. I have numerous 'collections’ of random things. I have three dogs who mean the world to me, so “love me, love my dogs.” I am very close to my two nieces and two nephews, and have had the same ‘best friend’ for 55 years, so family and friendship is important to me.
Lastly, I am in the out but quietly. I value ‘Pride’ and our great activists but like my faith, I would rather wear my sexuality like a bespoke suit, unobtrusively.
