Ages ago I once had a dear older friend who told me "people from all over the world are really the same, they want the same things". At the time, I didn't really believe him, I was young, and I was wrong. Youth lacking experience. Differences in culture still add up to the same desires. Peace, prosperity, equality of opportunity. A life story is not baggage. Our struggles and vulnerabilities are where humanity and love bloom.
Fight for equality and justice where there are wrongs if you can, these are important things in life. But also a balance of self preservation protection against the times of insanity in the world. A knowledge of civics, and politics is important, voting IS important. Some form of participation in community, at some point, IS important.
Exploring the world and all it's wonders, if only through pictures. The stars in the indigo sky, contemplating the great beyond. Nature and our responsibilities to the Earth.
