Adelaide is the fifth largest city in Australia with a population of 1.23 million inhabitants. It was founded in 1836 and its development was influenced by a commitment to religious freedom and political progressivism. Today, Adelaide serves as capital of South Australia, and, thus, the city is home to numerous governmental and financial institutions. You will also find that there are plenty of festivals, including those which are targeted at the LGBT community, and sporting events to enjoy.
