Brighton By bigbadkubThe people who give Brighton a negative review should try living or visiting Derby, because, believe me, Brighton is so much friendlier than here. Both scene and non scene are great and I cannot get enough of the city and will be back in December. So maybe some of you nice chunky older guys may like to give it another go .Trust me, excellent shopping, good bars and restaurants and not at all aimed at the teenagers like most gay scenes in the UK.........show review

Got cruised coming up the escalator at Marble Arch by a cute guy who went into the Quebec - had to go meet a friend for a couple of hours and the cute guy was gone when I got there. Like the bar and some really hot guys there - but maybe I just picked a bad night cos it wasnt as cruisy as I hoped. I ended up a wallflowers in the downstairs bar but will definitely be back for a second visit soon!! .....show review

Despite its thriving lesbian and gay community, highly effective lobbying organisations, the UK historically had a poor record on gay and lesbian rights. Recently though we have seen changes. Gay and Lesbian rights are now well protected en par with other main Western European liberal democracies. The gay scene in the UK is huge and vibrant.London unquestionably has the biggest gay scene in Europe with more than 150 bars, pubs, cafes and clubs. There are also very visible communities in Brighton, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Blackpool and Birmingham as well as in many other smaller cities. The UK has a very large gay press with about 4 or 5 free papers and 4 subscription gay and lesbian magazines. If you have not been to the UK in recent years you will find it unrecognisable. We would strongly recommend all gays and lesbians visit Britain if they can.
