Avoid the aforementioned Apollo sauna on kurfursten strasse its got a real bad unfriendly vibe and the place is crawling with weird agressive hustlers who are like something from a bad dream....ugh .....show review

There are 3 bars and a sauna for the older crowd and admirers all within 5 minutes walk. The sauna is the Vulcano which is busy most afternoons and has a friendly crowd in the bar - especially weekends. The bars are MyLord (busy evenings), Zille (gets busy later) and Bei Udo (less cruisy and more mixed). All tend to be very smokey and have more people at weekends. As elsewhere in Germany, younger guys tend to speak English better than older but you can do a lot with body language!.....show review

Munich is a lovely city, well worth a visit. It has a vibrant ga lots of bars, clubs and restaurants. However none seem to be really directed toward the older man. Though of course it may just be that I visited at the wrong times. But still a city to enjoy, especially for the Oktober Fest. Take your alkazeltsers!.....show review

About Germany

Homosexuality is widely accepted in Germany and this is reflected in such things as a low age of consent, legal prostitution and their same sex partnership legislation. Germans are also a very open people which means they don't have hang ups about sex. Public nudity is acceptable and laws on pornography seem quite liberal. For those seeking a slightly bolder gay scene Germany makes an excellent destination particularly Berlin and Hamburg.
