Hi. I am looking for long term FRIENDSHIPS (not ltRELATIONSHIP) in my new hometown (San Francisco). About 35 years ago, having been raised in Wisconsin, I could no longer stand the idea of being gay, so I married my long-term best friend and confidante. We had a wonderful 30-year marriage until she died in my arms 5 years ago. I came out a year later and am now out to my family and friends and enthusiastically embracing this wonderful new life. i just recently moved from Los Angeles into an apartment high above the downtown area of San Francisco in a fabulous Senior Residence (350 residents) which offers all of the conveniences of independent living as well as an active, cultural and private social life. Why the transition? Because of the freedom of knowing that no matter what happens to me neither friends nor relatives will ever be burdened with my care. Besides I can now walk to the symphony, ballet, opera theatre, etc. No more driving in Los Angeles! And no more grocery shopping, cooking for just one person or eating alone! I am a retired professional, in good health, HIV- (4/17/10), STD free and trusting. My interests also include reading, current events, movies, bridge, travel, socializing, entertaining, sailing, dancing, etc. If interested, let's meet for coffee and see whether or not we wish to proceed in getting to know each other.
