The Gay Village or “The Village” is centered on Rue St-Catherine between the Metro stops at Beaudry & Papineau. There are an extraordinary number of gay bars, restaurants, hotels, guest houses & gay shops grouped along this street with hordes of gay & “hetero” people walking until the very early hours of the morning. It is a live and vibrant place. The only drawback appears to be the number of drunks, “druggies” and aggressive beggars always in attendance.
