Just to keep members up to date the popular Chardee's on Wilton Drive and near the corner of NE 6th Ave has closed. The space is now Bill's Filling Station, formerly of NE 13th St, and the Red Mustang Lounge, both excellent hot spots. I hear that the owners of Chardee's have opened another bar on Federsl Highway near Whole Foods (around NE 20St) but I have not yet been there.

Bill's Filling station has moved from NE 13th St to Right on Wilton Drive, between Sidelines and Georgie's Alibi/Boom. All walkable distances between NE 20 St and NE 11th Ave. Wilton Drive is a curve. Also try Scandals, the country western bar on NE6th Ave jsut south of E Oakland Park Blvd. The Jackhammer has moved to Powerline Rd and NW 19th sT. It shares its building with Steele and Nocha Latina. There is a new place called the Birdcage, added to the outside of Boardwalk Bar on Andrews and 18th St.

Chardees is now closed. Go to Tropics if you are looking for lots of good looking older men!!!!! Older than 60!! Very friendly bartenders and staff!! Friendly visitors and locals!!! Good time!! RMC

The Villa Venice in ft. lauderdale is fantastic. service is great and so are amneities

I live in Pompano Beach, just a block from where Fort Lauderdale begins. I moved here when I retired and LOVE this place. Lots of very attractive men and the nude beachd at Haulover is fantastic. I saw a posting recommending that people come visit in the Fall and Spring, out of hurricane season. Not a bad idea but Winters here are mild and I even manage to hit the beach in January. Tropics, Chardee's and, may I add, BOOM and Georgie's Alibi are wonderful bars filled with lots of friendly people. A bit of trivia, Chardee's used to have top entertainment including Eartha Kitt as regulars.
